In the last article, I talked about the United States of America being a covenant nation. At this point, I’d like to provide a timeline of certain key events, demonstrating my concerns for this county with regard to the topic of the moral decline of America. I will also include
a few references to “The Harbinger” and “Shemitah”, if you haven’t read them, I highly recommend you do so. Much of the following information was inspired by this site. Check it out for additional detail not covered in my article.
1960’s – Removing Prayer and the Bible from public school, and the war on poverty
On Jun. 25, 2012, many across this nation celebrated a semicentennial anniversary of a key event in American History. On the other hand, those who understand the cost paid associated with this semicentennial, simply mourned the moral decline of America. This day was the 50th Anniversary of the 1962 Supreme Court decision removing prayer from the New York Public Schools system. In 1963 the case of Abington v. Schempp sided with Schempp and removed the Bible from public school in Pennsylvania. Finally later that year, this case would consolidate with a similar Maryland case in which the Supreme Court ruled 8 to 1 in favor of abolishing school prayer and Bible reading in the public schools. These cases fell under the progressive Warren Court of the 1950s and 1960s and surprisingly saw little opposition by Christian America.
This decade also brought Betty Friedan’s “The Feminine Mystique”, in which she confronts the stay-at-home mom role for women.
President Lyndon B. Johnson launches his Great Society, establishing Medicare, Medicaid, The Housing Act, and dozens of other programs with the stated intention “War on Poverty“, but which in reality were meant to continue the moral decline and keep the poor impoverished, subject to an every growing Welfare State.
The 60’s also introduced the world to the first gay drag ball, gay community center, and gay campus group.
In 1967, Roger Ebert gave Bonnie and Clyde a largely positive review of four stars. He called the film “a milestone in the history of American movies, …” While not exactly what Mr. Ebert was talking about, this film was highly controversial for it’s perceived opening of the floodgates for violence in cinema.
1970’s Feminism, Environmentalism, Abortion, and Homosexuality
With the growing up of the flower-children and the advent of disco, we see the continuation of the moral decline with trends that, a decade earlier were rarely heard of, but which eventually will evolve into massive reforms during the new millennium, namely feminism, environmentalism, abortion and homosexuality.
As early as the 1970’s, Gay Marriage was finding it’s way into the judicial system. During this time the sanctity of marriage was upheld, but it wasn’t to last. For example, The U.S. Supreme Court dismissed a case in which a Minnesota gay couple desired a marriage licence and were refused by county clerk. The next year Maryland became the first state to ban same-sex marriage.
In 1975, California voters overturned existing sodomy laws via a State Constitutional amendment. The next year artificial insemination became legal for lesbian couples.
With it’s landmark decision “Roe v. Wade”, the U.S. Supreme Court introduced the U.S. to the unrestricted practice of abortion. (see the article on Baal Worship). The court, by a 7–2 decision, said that a right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman’s decision to have an abortion. In contrast, Congress passes the Hyde Amendment barring the use of federal funds to pay for abortions. One year later, after pressure from the ACLU, the Hyde Amendment is revised to make allowances for the case of rape, incest, and the life of the mother. It is interesting to note, the 14th Amendment’s originally came about out of a fear that the Emancipation Proclamation and 13th Amendment‘s were not strong enough to enable equal citizenship to America’s newly freed Black population. It has since been the tool used to legalize same-sex marriage in contrast to State laws and Constitutions.
The 70’s opened with the birth of the EPA under an executive order by President Richard Nixon, for the purpose of protecting “human health and the environment” which would lead to UN Agenda 21 and ICLEI in the new millennium (see the article on Baal Worship) and closed with the Iran Hostage Crisis under President Jimmy Carter.
1980’s – An attack on the 10 Commandments and the discovery and spread of AIDS
Continuing evidence of the moral decline of America, this decade began with an assault on the 10 commandments. The U.S. Supreme Court rules that a requirement by Kentucky to post the 10 commandments is unconstitutional. Prior to this, a copy of the 10 commandments was found in every school in the state.
In 81′, the CDC identifies what would later be known as AIDS, primarily effecting gay men and drug addicts. in 1981 there were 234 known cases of death due to the newly discovered AIDS virus, by 1989, there were over 14,000 confirmed deaths. By 2002, over 1/2 a million would die from AIDS. In 84′, Berkeley CA becomes the first city with a domestic partner law. In 86′ the first openly lesbian couple is granted legal joint adoption in California. Towards the end of the decade, the Gay and Lesbian Caucus of the National Education Association is established.
President Reagan, battling the moral decline and the immorality of abortion announces the “Mexico City Policy” denying U.S. family planning funds to any overseas organization that uses their own private funds for abortion services, counseling, or referral. Unfortunately, in a 5 to 4 decision, the Supreme Court removes all restrictions on abortion.
1990’s – LGBT comes out of the closet, R-rated TV, and no more graduation Prayer
The moral decline of the 90’s starts off with the first lesbian kiss on network television. Also on Television, many traditional constraints were set aside. Prime-time networks launched the first R-rated tv series and previously forbidden language was now tolerated, including the excessive use of OMG which remains a popular phrase today. Later this decade, Ellen DeGeneres becomes the first openly lesbian star in a lead role. She is celebrated for her bravery when she “came out” on the Oprah Winfrey show. While discussing LGBT changes, Bill Clinton changes the military enlistment policy from one of exclusively heterosexual, to one of don’t ask, don’t tell. I was one of the last to answer the question of sexual preference when I enlisted in 91′. Towards the end of the decade, Will and Grace premiers featuring a main character who is homosexual and New Hampshire and Maine pass gay rights laws.
Not to be undone by previous decades, the Supreme Court rules that school prayer at graduation violates the Establishment clause. I remember this because my graduation occurred in 92′. As the school was still in transition, one of our many valedictorians was “asked to say the prayer” but instructed to give a speech instead. Myself and a few friends tried to persuade her to simply leave the time as a moment of silence so we could say our own. Unfortunately, one of the chief attributes of a valedictorian in my school, beyond and yet part of academics, was the unwavering ability to follow the rules without question or deviation. Thus she did her assigned role and I was left to say my own prayer while she talked.
Discrimination is immoral and should not be tolerated in ourselves, however there is a difference between respecting people and respecting sin. The 90’s saw the first laws protecting self identified gays and lesbians in public schools. Specifically in MA. As an example of taking things too far, the first school sanctioned gay-youth prom is held in LA in 94′.
While a lot of other changes occurred in the 90’s, like the other decade I’m providing a summary of some of the worst changes. The last item to point out was America’s total disregard to facts and character when it came to Bill Clinton and the Monica Lewinsky scandal, as well as the other women who were swept under the rug as fast as they could come forward expressing sexual assault by the President. Technically, it was now OK to lie under oath.
Acceleration of the moral decline and the first Harbinger
Up to this point, legislation had been limited to intolerance, major advances in immorality had been limited to television and other entertainment venues, but generally the nation still supported the traditional family, traditional values, etc. Even under Bill Clinton, we had the Defense of Marriage Act. However, with the new millennium came a doubling down on immorality and the moral decline. It kicked off with the first civil union law passed by the State of Vermont.
Then, on September 11th, 2001 terrorist struck the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. According to “The Harbinger”, this event was a result of the moral decline of America to this point and began a cycle of warnings by the Lord that America had failed to live up to it’s covenants, coming full circle, American’s were now Baal worshipers. Child sacrifice had become the norm in the form of abortion, in 2011 the CDC reported 730,322 abortions performed. It was this decade that Al Gore presented his “An Inconvenient Truth” really kicking off the environmental movement among the common man and advancing UN Agenda 21 and ICLEI. We also begin to see laws pass supporting and then promoting the LGBT movement first, in civic life and latter in our school system with the advent of Common Core (or in other words sexual perversions).
As with the destruction of Ancient Israel, when the Lord first removed his blessing of protection allowing the Assyrians to take over and destroy a number of northern cities. On 9/11 I believe the Lord lifted his protection of the U.S. in allowing terrorists to hit the Twin Towers and Pentagon. In response, the Israelites (northern tribes) declared an oath of defiance to God, claiming they could rebuild with their own strength, stronger than before. The oath is found in Isaiah 9:10
The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
This same oath was declared after 9/11 by Majority Leader of the Senate Tom Daschle (found at about 3:20 minutes in)
This event caused a stock market crash the likes of which America had never seen. In response, President Bush told American’s to go shopping (a reference to the Tower of Babel, but that’s for another article). A combination of cheep money, 0 interest rates, and an increase in immorality would cause the next warning exactly 7 years to the day, according to he Jewish Calendar, of Tom Daschle’s declaration of the oath of defiance. In that time America would again double down on it’s sins instead of turn back to God. Prior to 2000, Gay Marriage was illegal in America, but we had a major problem with abortion. The Environmental movement was going, but not really controlling yet.
2000 – Partial Birth Abortion, Hollywood’s LGBT movement, Premarital sex OK, and A Communist for President
In 2000 the Supreme Court rules that Nevada’s prohibition of partial-birth abortion is unconstitutional, however in 2007 the Supreme Court upheld Bush’s ban on partial-birth abortions. In 2003 the Supreme Court over turns state sodomy laws, legalizing homosexuality in America. In that same year, a national tax-payer funded study finds social conservatives suffer from mental rigidity and dogmatism constituting mental illness.
In Hollywood, movies about a gay cowboy, a gay activist, and radical anti-christian sex experiments are celebrated. By the end of 2010, most popular television shows have at least one LGBT character. The new millennium was also fraught with wardrobe malfunctions occurring on live television, 18,000 complaints alone filed from airing one particular swearwords on public television. And the FCC denies 36 complains of indecency filed by the Parents Television Council. Inappropriate language in Hollywood is out of control. Check out this video “advertisement” from vidangle:
Back in the 1990’s I heard a NPR interview with a leading Hollywood producer, I forget which one. His stated goal was to have nudity acceptable on prime-time television. I heard a similar interview, again on NPR, in early 2000’s with a different producer.
During this time, Gallop reveals that 60% of American’s consider premarital sex is not wrong. Compared to 1969 when 68% said it was. And Newsweek proclaims “The Decline and Fall of Christian America”. According to a study by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, it determined that 80% of evangelical Christians between the ages of 20 and 29 had premarital sex.
In 2004, Americans (or the CFR), elected the first President with significant historical ties to radical Communism and a President who argued in support of partial-birth abortions while a member of the Illinois State Senate.
After trampling American liberty for 4 years, American’s would reelect him again in 2008.
in 2004 the moral decline proceeded as Massachusetts became the first state to legalize gay marriage. In 2005 Connecticut follows a similar path. California attempts to follow suit, but is vetoed by Governor Schwarzenegger who supported the earlier proposition voted on by the people in opposition to gay marriage. In 2006 the New Jersey Supreme Court issues a unanimous ruling providing same-sex marriage. During this period of time, several states did pass their own pro traditional marriage laws, however the New Jersey decision created a movement setting the stage for legislation from the bench or judicial over reach that would accumulate in the Supreme Court overturning 34 States anti-gay marriage laws and constitutional amendments in one fail swoop. In 2008 The California Supreme Court followed New Jersey in overturning a voter supported Amendment, legalizing same-sex marriage in that state. By September of 2008, between 3 and 4 States has some form of same-sex marriage legalization.
Then at the end of 2008, again, exactly 7 years from Tom Dschle’s proclamation, the stock market crashed with the housing bubble popping. This took American unemployment to levels not seen since the great depression. Under President Obama, the U.S. reached, for the first time, greater than 50% of it’s citizenry on some form of Government support program. Meaning, for the first time in America’s history, there were more taking from the system than contributing. This was the end goal of the Cloward–Piven strategy that I may go into in a future article.
In his 2009 State of the Union Address, this time referring to the 2008 market crash – in line with the Harbinger, Obama using similar words, re-proclaimed the oath (found highlighted on the whitehouse website)
We will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before.
Obama later signed the beam that was placed atop the New York’s One World Trade Center said in a similar manner:
We remember, We rebuild, We come back stronger!
By the end of 2009, unemployment had exceeded that of the Great Depression. The Great Depression, at it’s peek was 21-22%, however, by the start of 2010 we were closer to 23% and rising.
2009 also saw Congress expand hate-crime laws to include sexual orientation.
2010 – Legalized Same-sex Marriage, the Aborted for sell, God out of the DNC, and the fight to stop the moral decline of America.
2010 began with the military lifting the ban on gays serving openly in the military.
Over the next 5 years most of New England and several other progressive States would embrace some form of same-sex marriage. Then in June of 2015 the
Supreme Court would rule that all States must now recognize same-sex marriage in my opinion, effectively cementing the moral decline of America. We went from a nation with laws against homosexuality to the first state accepting it, in about 25 years to full gay marriage in just 10 more. Or from 4 states in 2008 at the time of the first harbinger, to all 50 7 years later!
In 2012, the Democratic Party moves to eradicate God from their party platform and remove all reference to God from the 2012 Democrat National Convention.
It was revealed by a series of disturbing undercover videos in 2015 that planned parenthood had been selling aborted babies and parts for medical science. And despite all the evidence of abuse, Congress is unable to de-fund planned parenthood.
In March of 2016, Congress began considering legislation that would expand the discrimination protections against the LGBT Community. This holds a serious threat against Religious Liberty. While some Republicans have offered other bills that seek to balance the rights of LGBT citizens and religion, they are thought to not have enough support to clear either chamber. On the other hand, the expanded civil protections or special class legislation already has bi-party support and appears to have a strong chance of passing.
The Good News – The Fight Continues
Emboldened by the 2007 Supreme Court decision upholding the ban on partial-birth abortions, 10 states have enacted their own laws banning the practice. Similarly, additional states have passed laws banning abortions beginning at 20 weeks.
The biggest ever single-day crash occurred on Sept. 29, 2008, after the U.S. House of Representatives rejected the government’s $700 billion bank bailout. Amidst the subprime crisis, the Dow’s second biggest single-day drop happened six days later on Oct. 15, 2008. The third-largest single day crash occurred on Sept. 17, 2001, seven years before the subprime crisis would beat the 684-point drop. At the end of the Shemetah year, the stock market took another hit. While not as large as those previously mentioned, the timing is interesting. Following it came a huge recovery, taking the market to new highs of nearly 18K for the DJI, and a complete recovery in the San Francisco Housing Market. But was the worst behind us? Consider in November, the market appeared stable enough for the Feds to raise interest rates. Beginning Thanksgiving 2015 to the middle of January 2016, the DOW has gone from near 18K to just under 16K, sparking the worst starting year in the DOWs histor
Follow the pattern we should see other signs in January in line with the 7 year reunion of Obama’s declaration of the oath of defiance. Have we finally turned back to God as a Covenant Nation or can we expect a similar fate to Ancient Israel as we continue the moral decline? You be the judge…
Obama was elected president the first time in 2008, not 2004; G W Bush won reelection that year. Obama was then reelected in 2012. It’s hard to take this article too seriously, when the time line of such recent history isn’t correct.
